Music Set #257 - Rachmaninoff - Somewhere in Time

Sergei Rachmaninoff

[sʲɪrˈɡʲej rɐxˈmanʲɪnəf]  (1873 – 1943)

Rachmaninoff composed the Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganinione of his best known works, in 1934. It is written for solo piano and symphony orchestra, closely resembling a piano concerto.

The piece is a set of 24 variations on Niccolò Paganini's Caprices No.24 for solo violin.
Variation 18: Andante cantabile adopted in Somewhere in Time movie,
starring the spoony Christopher Reeve and the Mona-Lisa-like Jane Seymour

... The movie remained in cinema for 223 days, a record length for Hong Kong at the time, from 12 September 1981 to 22 April 1982.

Many girls went watch the movie a few times, and sobbed every time.
