Painting #A08 - The Story of Nastagio degli Onesti

The Story of Nastagio degli Onesti
- Sandro Botticelli (c.1445-1510, Italian)
- tempera on panel
(in 4 parts, each 83 x ~140 cm) in 1483
- parts 1-3: Museo del Prado (Madrid)
- part 4: Palazzo Pucci (Florence)

The story of Nastaglio of Onesti, a "noble" knight who tortured and killed a woman whom he loved but did not love back, before he married another lady.

Tempera, made by mixing egg-white with colors, is more thick-consistent and lasting.
