- aka Ivan the Terrible killing his son
In 1581, Russian Tsar Ivan IV (1530-1547-1584) beat his pregnant daughter-in-law for wearing immodest clothing (cooler but improper for a fomal occasion), and this may have caused a miscarriage.
The son, also named Ivan, upon learning this, engaged in a heated argument with the father, resulting in the father striking the son in the head with his pointed staff, fatally wounding the son.
In less than three years after the death of this crown prince, the tsar died.
