Painting #B19 - The Lady of Shalott

The Lady of Shalott
- William Holman Hunt (1827-1910, English)
- oil on canvas (188 × 146 cm) in 1905
- Wadsworth Atheneum (Connecticut)
A secret admirer of handsome knight Lancelot from France.

"I am half sick of shadows," said the Lady of Shalott
- John William Waterhouse (1849–1917, British-Italian)
- oil on canvas (100 x 74 cm) 1915
- Art Gallery of Ontario (Toronto)

She's not the only admirer of Lancelot, of course.

King Arthur leads a blissful married life with his Queen. Trouble starts, when she has an affair with one of his round-table knights, Lancelot.
But, after being knighted by the queen of King Arthur,
Lancelot and the queen fell in love.
